Beautiful Bertha

Bertha is an American Bulldog
Weight: 67 lbs

Bertha is a darling. Sweet and unassuming, she is a truly humble soul. Bertha is quiet and makes no demands for your attention. She can sit and lay down on command. On a leash, she walks beside you and does not pull. This girl is not in a hurry. Bertha loves people and gets along with other nice dogs. She is a beauty. I just love her smile, it reads all over her face. There isn’t much more than can be said, I think her pictures do her better justice than I can with words. Love you, darling girl.

Here Comes Trouble: The Evies

These little terriers look a lot like my Evie. That means trouble! I must be a masochist because I actually thought about how cute it would be to have all three at my house with Evie…cute for three minutes and then nothing but terrier trouble!

Byron!

UPDATE: Byron was rescued!

Byron will be euthanized if not adopted or rescued by 9-07-11
Byron is a Pit Bull/Lab Mix

This young dog will charm the socks off you in a minute flat! Byron is just a fur covered love.  From Shelter Rescue, Byron’s bio/story:

Just recently, “Byron” had a wonderful, loving home.  His potential family came to the shelter along with their sweet Golden Retriever mix to choose a shelter pet to join their family.  After taking several dogs out, they finally took out “Byron” to get to know him.  Immediately, their dog and “Byron” became best friends.  It was quite simply “a no brainer” who would be a new part of their four-legged family.  We were thrilled for “Byron” because you could no ask for a better family and we knew he would have the best of everything.  The family filled out the adoption paperwork and were so happy….they were looking forward to picking “Byron” up after he had been vetted.  Sadly, they were informed by their Home Owners Association that they could not have pit or pit mixes in their neighborhood.  Our hearts broke for “Byron”.  Now…he is out of time and his life is in jeopardy.  “Byron” is simply the BEST!  He loves and adores people and also gets along GREAT with other dogs.  He even shares treats/food with NO squabbles.  He is extremely humble and has no desire to be “alpha”.  He only wants to be loved and accepted.  Just look at his face….you can see how sweet he truly is.  He never makes a fuss to be noticed….ever.

To summarize: Byron is awesome, HOAs are not.

I love this expression. Pure peace with the world

Can you give him a third chance at love and life?

Bully!

UPDATE: Bully was rescued!

Bully will be euthanized if not adopted or rescued by 9-07-11
Bully is a DSH Tux

This young male is certainly a love and very confident. In fact, he was named “Bully” because he would always make sure to get to the food bowl first and eat his fill before the others. He is a complete ham for the camera. Rolling over and reaching out to the camera like he was an old pro. Be sure to check out his video below.

Bully could be your next muse! I know he inspired me to doodle….I haven’t picked up a pencil to draw since art school!

UPDATE: Peppy was rescued!

Peppy will be euthanized if not adopted or rescued by 7-13-11

Peppy is a Lab/Shepherd Mix
Weight: 65 lbs

My home is like a hotel for dogs. There are only so many vacancies. Right now, Lindley’s Bed and Breakfast is full but Peppy has me questioning my own hotel policy. Sadly, I will not be able to take in another animal but this means you can have Peppy all for yourself! He is such an awesome dog. Now, if you want a great first impression with Peppy, make sure to bring a tennis ball or two. He loves them! I gave him one the other day. He carried it around and nursed it like a cold beer. Peppy is very social. Whenever a door would open he’d want to go through, not to run away, but to go visit with everyone there. Shaking hands and kissing babies. He has this meet and greet personality. Peppy just soaks up attention, he is loving and laid back. He calms down easily, laying in the middle of the room content. He is a bit of a counter surfer. He tried to get the ball out of the sink after I had washed it. Cheeky doggie. Mr. Pep is a gorgeous dog with the most endearing freckles on his nose. Who could not love him?

Can you give Peppy a second chance at love and life?

UPDATE: Indy was rescued!
Indy will be euthanized if not adopted or rescued by 7-08-11

Indy is a DSH Brown Tabby

Sometimes I just don’t know what to say. I know what I feel in my heart but by the time I sit to type, my brain muddles the message. Each animal is living soul, completely different from the next and completely deserving of love and peace. I see so many animals that it becomes harder to spend the large amount of time needed to get to know them and their quirks. The heart-to-heart is easy but it doesn’t help me put into words Indy’s essence. I suppose it’s best just to see his pictures and look into his eyes. You’ll get your answer there, if its an answer you seek.

What are you waiting for? Do you click with Indy? Get down here and take him home. Time’s a tickin’.

UPDATE II: Petey was rescued! 🙂
UPDATE: Petey will be euthanized if not adopted or rescued by 6-15-11

Petey is a Dalmatian Mix
Weight: 32 lbs

From ShelterRescueInc.org:

“Petey” is a dog who will melt your heart the instant you meet him.  He has the most humble and loving personality.  He never demands…..anything!  He takes what attention he is given and is thankful.  He is very quiet in his kennel and was afraid when he first arrived (who can blame him?).  “Petey” is sweeter than sweet and looks to people for love and comfort.  He adores people and showed no sign whatsoever of aggression with other dogs.  This fella is quite simply WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!  He is a love…period.  Can you open your heart and home?

I agree!
